The Deaf and Disabled Telecommunication Program (DDTP) is a state-funded program providing telecommunications services and equipment to consumers in California who have difficulty using a regular telephone. We have a rewarding opportunity for an Outreach Specialist to serve the Deaf and hard of hearing community in Northern California. As an Outreach Specialist you will enhance and increase DDTP's visibility through various outreach activities such as: - Marketing: Identify, develop and attract new clients to the program via lead generation, networking, mailings, and cold-calling. - Outreach: Develop opportunities and present at community outreach events, trainings, and workshops. - PR/Media: Develop media contracts, submit articles for media publications and participate in interviews with various media outlets. - Community: Provide information and access to DDTP's programs and resources to the community and client-base.
Required Skills and Experience: - Bachelor degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Social Work or related field of study, and a minimum of one year of experience in the non-profit arena in an outreach capacity or the combined equivalent experience. - Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; accurate data entry skills, and experience working in a customer relational database. - Clean DMV report and the ability to travel. - Ability to work independently.
